BRAVE NEW WAVES head to Whistler B.C. for 2 nights of Mayhem @ the Whistler Brewhouse before Headlining the night in Clearwater B.C. at the annual Clearwater Kayak Festival.
Brave New Waves hit the road again and are heading to beautiful Whistler, British Columbia, for 2 nights of mayhem and a good old fashioned debauchery at the most happening place in town The Whistler Brewhouse for their annual Hoedown with a corn on the cob eating contest and a Daisy Duke look alike competition. Mothers hide your daughters because the boys are back in town. VICTORIAS 11th annual SKA-FEST 2010 WAS AN AMAZING WEEK OF INSPIRING PERFORMANCES AND MAKING MANY NEW FRIENDS AND ALL FELLING UNITED BY OUR LOVE FOR SKA MUSIC AND THE POWER IT HAS TO BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER!
Brave New Waves opened the evening at the Main Event @ Victorias 11th annual SKA-Fest 2010 last night at the victoria curling Club and got a massive crowd warmed up skanking and jumping eager for an epic lineup of performers and one of the most amazing shows that Victoria ska-Fest has ever seen! After Brave New Waves brought the local spirit and got the crowd ready the Cherry Poppin Daddies rocked everybodys socks off with swing infused ska and rocksteady style that was inspiring and soul shaking beyond woods. Next from New zeland the Black Seeds blew everybodys minds with soulful funk and skankin ska with interludes of soulful reggae and DUB and definitely got the supernatural energy flowing and brought everyone together in a sweaty mass of united beautiful people. Finally, the headlining act of this years ska-fest FISHBONE came on stage with such presence and soul that they got every able bodied person in the venue skanking for 2 hrs straight with one of the most amazing performances that the SKA-Fest has ever witnessed. At the end of the night they brought the house back to earth with some of the most soulful moving reggae gospel you could ever hear!!!! From partying with the Aggrolites till 6 in the morning to meeting some of our favourite musicians and making 100s of new friends and fans, to meeting the members of FISHBONE in person and being so inspired by the heart,mind,body, and soul that unites ppl and knocks down barriers, tears down walls, opens minds, and brings ppl together all in the name of LOVE FOR SKA MUSIC! To the entire Victoria B.C. SKA SOCIETY and everyone that put their heart and soul into making this the best Ska-Fest ever THANKYOU SO VER MUCH!!! TECH-N9NE MUSIC FESTIVAL!!!!!!
Brave New Waves are so stoked to announce that they will be performing to over 3000 eager fans in Black Creek this thursday March 25th @ the TECH-N9NE Music Festival and outdoor Skate and B.M.X. Competition at the Saratoga Speedway! This is going to be an amazing event and we are so grateful to be a part of such an awesome show! Our set is 5:30-6:15 and we are happy to rock the upper Vancouver island music lovers with our WestCoast island style Reggae and SKA music! See you all there at the TECH-N9NE Music Festival! Tour so Far
Well campers, the Brave New Waves tour is going swimmingly!!
Tonight, here we are in Banff, Alberta @ the SameSun Hostel. Our beautiful host Lenny and the rest of the staff here are being so awesome and accommodating.. Wonderful room, great dinner. Beautiful place indeed. The room we're performing in tonight already has more than half capacity with stoked locals and travelers! Should be an exciting night too as this show is the very first with dropping the electronic beats and fx on the snare and vocals!

Beginning on Thursday night though, the Brave New Waves tour began @ Malone's on West Pender. Incredible openers the Natural Flavas got the crowd super stoked with their tight harmonies and unreal percussion and keyboards.. Brave New Waves set was a killer hour and 15 minutes. A great start to this long ride of ours!

Friday morning, the long road proved snowy and high in the alpine as we made route to Kelowna. Our aussie merch manager Dan got his first taste of the Canadian phenomenon of a blizzard! But the 'brown wing' tour van held steady and safely we arrived.. And an incredible venue it was. So welcoming the SameSun Hostel was, so happy to have performed to such amazing people. thanx so much to Jerel and Nate for hosting us so warmly for sure..

Well, it's off to get going on the show this evening.. Stay posted. Hopefully we'll see you along the way..
